John Power

Loews Hotels & Co, in partnership with Universal Orlando Resort, has named John Power as the general manager of Universal's Endless Summer Resort - Surfside Inn and Suites. The 750-room property is set to open this summer and will become the destination's seventh hotel. When its sister hotel, Dockside Inn and Suites, opens in 2020, the Universal Orlando destination will offer a total of 9,000 hotel rooms.

Originally from Ireland, Power has more than 20 years of hospitality experience in Europe, the Caribbean and North America. He was previously the general manager of Loews Hotel 1000, Seattle and Loews Minneapolis Hotel. During his tenure at Loews Hotel 1000, he oversaw a multi-million dollar renovation and helped integrate Loews Hotels & Co's renowned service culture with the distinct character of the Pacific Northwest.

Power joined Loews Hotels & Co in 2010 as the opening director of rooms at Loews Atlanta Hotel and established himself as an exemplary leader. In 2011, Power became the director of rooms for Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando and in 2013, moved into the hotel's director of food and beverage position. Prior to joining Loews Hotels & Co, Power worked for Hyatt Hotels for 10 years, starting as an intern and ascending to various leadership roles within the company.
