Santiago Sagaz

Soori Bali, a member of the Leading Hotels of the World, has announced the appointment of Santiago Sagaz as General Manager, effective immediately. Mr. Sagaz will be responsible for the resort's 48 villas and residences, including Soori Estate, the single largest private villa on the island of Bali; Cotta and Ombak restaurants; wedding & banquet facilities; and the award-winning Soori Spa, voted "Best in Indonesia" by the World's Best Awards. Mr. Sagaz will also be a steward for the resort's newly formed Green Council and instrumental in village and community relations.

Mr. Sagaz is a veteran leader in the field of luxury hospitality, having been at the helm of renowned properties from Brazil to Bali. He was most recently the General Manager at the COMO Shambhala Estate and Bulgari Resort, both in Bali.

Set on the edge of the ocean between Mount Batukaru and terraced rice fields, Soori Bali is a hidden refuge, rejuvenating and peaceful; it is Bali as it should be. A Leading Hotels of the World member, the resort is designed, developed and managed by globally renowned designer Soo K. Chan and Ling Fu.

With architecture, interiors, and landscape from holistic design studio SCDA, Soori Bali is crafted out of local materials and maintains a true sense of place. Soori Bali has sustainability in all its forms at the heart of its operations, from cultural preservation (particularly in indigenous dance and music) to eco-friendly initiatives such as onsite herb and fruit cultivation, well water pumping and bottling facilities, and the successful launch of a turtle hatchling release program earlier this year, the first of its kind in Bali.
