Peter Wong

Berjaya Hotels & Resorts ("BHR") today announced the appointment of Peter Wong as the Head of Operations. In his role, he will focus on developing strategies to increase the hotels' operational efficiency and improve guest satisfaction of all the hotels and resorts owned and managed by BHR. He is also in charge of the overall management and coordination of daily operations, ensuring the hotels operate according to the group's policies and professional guidelines.

Peter is a hospitality management professional with over 29 years of experience with proven track record in identifying opportunities and implementing strategies for creating revenue growth and efficiency improvements. He is also a specialist in successful pre and post openings of hotels and properties in South East Asia, primarily in China. In addition, he is adept at identifying and implementing the best practices and effective results through Guest Satisfaction Survey and employee satisfaction feedback via a Comprehensive Attitudes and Perspective Survey. As a multilingual management professional with strong leadership skills, he has demonstrated an aptitude for cultivating a motivating workplace that attracts, retains and develops hospitality talent.

Peter is a veteran hotelier. He started his career as a Financial Controller at one of the hotels in Malaysia. In the ensuing years, he held various key portfolios within the international hotel chains in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Singapore, Bahamas, Myanmar and London. His global experience in the hospitality industry spans a multitude of senior management positions, including as General Manager, Group Project Development Director, Chief Financial Officer as well as Vice President of Operations.

As a seasoned hotelier, Peter also plays an active role as the Vice President of Shenzhen and Malaysia Chinese Association as well as one of the members of Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, an international association of gastronomy established in over 80 countries.
