Fernando Cardoso Lopez named General Manager at Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta
Playa Hotels & Resorts N.V. (NASDAQ: PLYA, "Playa") has named Fernando Cardoso Lopez the general manager of Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta. As general manager, Cardoso will oversee the day-to-day operations of the all-inclusive resort, located on the famed Banderas Bay.
A native of Mexico City, Cardoso has spent the greater part of the last two decades working in management positions throughout Mexico and Latin America. Fluent in four languages, Lopez is a results-oriented leader with deep-rooted experience in the hospitality industry and comes to Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta with a wealth of knowledge to complement the resort's existing management team.
As one of the initial resorts that launched under the Hyatt Ziva brand in 2014, AAA Four Diamond-rated Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta has recently undergone several noteworthy enhancements including the renovation of the 87-room Club Tower, the addition of new signature swim-up suites and an expansion of Blaze, the resort's most popular dining outlet. These updates and more will be brought to light under Cardoso's leadership.
Cardoso, who attended Southwestern College in San Diego, California has since earned a number of post-graduate certifications, including the completion of the General Manager's Program at Cornell University. He has a Green Belt Certification in Six Sigma and is an active member of several hospitality organizations including Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International.
