Linda Barrington

I am delighted to inform you that Linda Barrington has been appointed associate dean of external relations for the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business, effective July 1, 2019. Linda has had a distinguished carrier in academia and industry and currently serves as associate dean for outreach and sponsored Research in the ILR School and as executive director of Cornell's Institute for Compensation Studies. Prior to her arrival at Cornell in 2010, she served in various leadership roles, including managing director and director of human capital research at The Conference Board and in faculty roles at Barnard College and the University of Michigan. She holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. At the ILR School, Linda contributed significantly to the creation and management of the ILR Center in New York City and led efforts to help the school's centers and institutes work more smoothly and collaboratively. Linda's dedication to this work was integral to helping the school and the university to better serve the needs of the citizens of New York State and the world. In her role as associate dean for external relations, Linda will lead the college's efforts with corporate engagement, international strategy, non-degree executive education, and grants and contracts. She also will work to facilitate the work of our centers and institutes and will collaborate closely with colleagues in career services and alumni affairs and development.
