In his role as general manager, Liao oversees all facets of day-to-day operations for Kimpton Hotel Palomar Washington DC, from guest and neighborhood relations to personnel, business development, property amenities and hotel operations. An industry veteran with deep roots in Kimpton hospitality, Liao has successfully led several Kimpton hotels through openings, renovations, transitions and rebranding in various markets across the United States throughout his career. Liao's 17 years of hospitality experience have taken him to Kimpton properties in Washington, D.C., Alexandria, Va. Palm Beach, Fla., San Francisco and Palm Springs, Calif. before now returning to the District.

Liao most recently held the position of general manager at the Kimpton Rowan Hotel in Palm Springs, spearheading the opening of the hotel and introducing the city of Palm Springs to the Kimpton brand. Previous to Palm Springs, Liao was the general manager of Kimpton George Hotel in Washington, D.C. where the hotel achieved an all-time, record-high revenue performance for the Capitol Hill property. After maintaining several hotel leadership positions, Liao maintains the best part of his job is delivering exceptional guest and employee experiences.
A native Washingtonian, Liao currently resides in the Columbia Heights neighborhood. He enjoys going to the gym, cooking, following Washington sports teams and spending time with family and friends when not at work. As former Treasurer and Board Member of the Palm Springs Hospitality Association, Liao is excited to expand h is local involvement with organizations such as the Dupont Circle BID and Hotel Association of Washington DC. Liao brings a strong appreciation for community into his new role at Kimpton Hotel Palomar Washington DC and is thrilled to be back in Washington, D.C.
