Alan Shukovsky has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at The Glasshouses
In advance of the opening of The Glasshouse, its 75,000 square foot glass enclosed space opening early next year, Glasshouses announces the hiring of Executive Director of Sales and Marketing, Alan Shukovsky. Shukovsky will oversee the sales and marketing departments as the company opens its new flagship venue.
Alan Shukovsky's career in the luxury hospitality market began almost exclusively handling social events at such respected venues as the Water's Edge in Long Island City and The Palace at So merset Park in Somerset County, NJ. Subsequently, Shukovsky was recruited by Stephen Starr to lead the sales team at his first two restaurants in New York, Buddakan a Christian Liaigre-designed restaurant adjacent to the historic Chelsea Market, and Morimoto, the groundbreaking Chelsea outpost of Starr's Philadelphia staple and namesake of the famed Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto. During his time at these venues, Shukovsky was responsible for events ranging in size for 15 to 600. Following his time with Starr Restaurants, Shukovsky was The Director of Private Social Catering at the iconic Waldorf Astoria, New York. During his time at The Waldorf, he worked with New York City's preeminent planning community on society weddings, galas and non-profit fundraisers including The Breast Cancer Research Foundation's Hot Pink Party, Alfred E. Smith Foundation Gala and events of the United Nations General Assembly. Since the close of The Waldorf Astoria for the historic restor ation, Alan has held Director of Catering and Events position of two of the largest assets in Hilton Worldwide's management portfolio, The Hilton New Orleans Riverside and the Diplomat Hotel in Hollywood, Florida.
Glasshouses' new venue, The Glasshouse, will accommodate up to 1,850 guests for seated dinners and feature sweeping views of New York City, endless customization opportunities, waterfront-facing outdoor terraces, pre-function spaces, a VIP Lounge, and several green rooms. The space will feature built-in lighting, audio, video and rigging systems throughout. Uniquely, the space features cutting-edge acoustic partitions allowing clients to subdivide the large space into a myriad of customized configur ations as well as two commercial kitchens. Both kitchens include flexible work spaces with mobile tables, racks, walk-in coolers, broilers, ranges, combination ovens and fryers. Additionally, the space's car freight elevator will allow for expedited, uninterrupted load-in and load-out.
The penthouse venue has been designed as a canvas without bounds and will have the flexibility to host small or large-scale social events and weddings, corporate gatherings, benefit galas, product launches or full production fashion shows. The architecture and design will offer clients a modern and clean aesthetic, allowing for a wide range of bespoke production capabilities..
