Mayflower Inn & Spa, Auberge Resorts Collection, the exquisite country estate hotel in the idyllic town of Washington, Conn., today announced the appointment of Israël Benyaïr as General Manager. A seasoned hotelier with a career honed at luxury hotels around the world, Benyaïr brings decades of hospitality leadership and expertise to his new role. On the heels of the appointment of Mayflower Dining Room Executive Chef Lacey Lou Franklin, Benyaïr joins the storied hotel as it embarks on an exciting new chapter under new leadership. Benyaïr will play a key role in leading the property through its upcoming renovation in 2020.

Benyaïr brings a wealth of leadership experience honed at esteemed luxury hotels in the U.S. and Europe to his new role at Mayflower Inn & Spa. Most recently, he served as Hotel Manager at the Forbes Five Star Mandarin Oriental, New York, where he was responsible for a team of 550 employees. Prior to that, Benyaïr served as the Hotel Manager at the Mandarin Oriental, Geneva, for three years, where he was responsible for the property's entire operation. His earlier career includes 10 years in leadership roles with Hotel Beau-Rivage Geneva, Swiss Deluxe in Switzerland and Mandarin Oriental hotels in Boston and Washington D.C.

Benyaïr earned a bachelor's degree from International Hotel Management School in Lyon, France. During his free time, he enjoys cooking and spending time with his wife and 10-year-old son.
