Sander Bierenbroodspot

Sander Bierenbroodspot may call himself the new Executive Chef of Carstens Brasserie at Park Plaza Victoria Amsterdam. With his extensive experience, gained in various renowned restaurants, he is a real asset to the team. For Bierenbroodspot, the unique concept of Carstens, which focuses on Dutch products, was decisive for his choice. As Executive Chef, Bierenbroodspot will work closely with Maik Kuijpers, who is involved as Concept Chef in the composition of the menu, team and operation of Carstens Amsterdam, which opened in February and has its own entrance on Hasselaerssteeg.

Looking at the earlier specialization of Bierenbroodspot, it was not obvious that he would develop into an Executive Chef. But the former engineering student had more attention for his side job in the kitchen. His talent and dedication brought him the Young Talent title in 2008 and that is where the culinary career of Bierenbroodspot really starts working in the kitchens of La Rive*, Ciel Bleu**, Villa Joya**, Envy (Bib Gourmand), Bluespoon and The friends of Jacob*. In his new position, Sander Bierenbroodspot, in addition to the permanent team including Head Chef Rick van der Meij, is responsible for the entire kitchen organization of Park Plaza Victoria Amsterdam.
