Marcel Kleffner has been appointed Vice President Finance Europe at Kempinski Hotels
Kempinski Hotels S.A. has appointed Marcel Kleffner as Vice President Finance Europe based at the company's corporate office in Geneva. In his new role he will oversee the financial performance of the European hotel portfolio of Kempinski and directly report to the company's Chief Financial Officer.
Marcel Kleffner gained a wealth of finance experience over the last 20 years in various positions in the hospitality industry. He started his career in 1998 at the Crowne Plaza in Heidelberg, Germany as accounts receivable clerk, followed by accounts payable, cost controller and subsequently as Assistant Financial Controller. He joined Swissôtel Düsseldorf/ Neuss in 2001 as Assistant Financial Controller and was promoted to Financial Controller in 2004.
In 2007 he transferred to the corporate office of Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts and continuously worked up his ranks in the later called FRHI Hotels & Resorts (Swissôtel, Raffles and Fairmont Hotels & Resorts). He joins Kempinski Hotels from his most recent employment with Accor where he held the position of Director Finance & Business Support Luxury Brands Europe since 2017.
A German national, Marcel speaks fluent English and basic French. He holds a certificate as Bilanzbuchhalter (Certified Chartered Accountant).
