Sébastien Mariette

Royal Maxim Palace Kempinski is pleased to announce that Sébastien Mariette has been appointed as the new General Manager and Area General Manager, Egypt as of 16 February, 2020.

Sébastien has been working in the hospitality industry with Kempinski since 2007. As an experienced professional hotelier, he has been dedicated to improving guest experience, and maximising operational profits, as well as creating a multicultural working environment.

Passionate, articulate and person able, Sébastien has proven to be a creative, efficient leader who believes that the success of an organisation comes from a competent and innovative team.Sébastien started his journey with Kempinski as Resident Manager at Kempinski Hotel Grand Hermitage, Varna, Bulgaria, moving shortly afterwards to Djibouti Palace Kempinski as Executive Assistant Manager. In 2010, Sébastien was transferred on a promotion to China, where he took over the role of General Manager and successfully opened Kempinski Hotel Huizhou. In 2012, he became General Manager of the Kempinski Hotel Wuxi ,and ,at the same time, he successfully opened and positioned Kempinski Hotel Yixing. In 2014, he returned to the MEA Region as General Manager at Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea in Jordan and was then promoted in 2016 as Cluster General Manager for Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea and Kempinski Hotel Aqaba. Later in 2018, Sébastien joined Emerald Palace Kempinski & Kempinski Residences Palm Jumeirah as M anaging Director, where he opened the outstanding Emerald Palace Kempinski. In June 2019, he took over the role of Project Director Asia, acting as Managing Director at The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore, fully managing this property in the absence of the general manager.

Sébastien holds a Master's Degree in International Hospitality Management, passed with distinction, from the University of Toulouse II - Le Mirail, Toulouse, France, and a Master of Business Administration in International Hospitality Management from the International Hospitality Management Institute, Paris, France, a joint programme of Cornell University ,USA ,and ESSEC Business School in France.
