In addition to his responsibilities as general manager at Grand Hyatt Bali, he will also take on the role of area vice president of Hyatt Indonesia where he will oversee the following area hotels - Park Hyatt Jakarta, Andaz Bali, Alila SCBD, Alila Villas Uluwatu, Alila Seminyak, Studios at Alila Seminyak, Alila Ubud, Alila Manggis, Alila Purnama, Alila Solo, Grand Hyatt Jakarta, Grand Hyatt Bali, Hyatt Regency Bali and Hyatt Regency Yogyakarta.

Groten takes over the area vice president role from Peter Stettler who held this position for the past 25 years, and is now moving into his new role as senior advisor to Hyatt in Indonesia.

Groten has more than two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, having first started out as a front office manager in Bandung, Indonesia.

In 2018, Marco became head of operations for Alila, based in Hong Kong, working on the integration of Alila properties within Hyatt.

20 January 2021 — Park Hyatt has appointed renowned hospitality professional Nikolaus A Priesnitz as the General Manager of Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa, one of the best luxury hotels in Maldives. A German national with extensive experience across the globe, Priesnitz joined Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa on January 4 and will oversee the reopening of the resort, which is scheduled for February 1.

John Schafer - Managing Director

19 January 2021 — Hyatt Regency Houston, the premier downtown hotel for business and leisure travelers, announces the appointment of John Schafer as managing director. Schafer joins the hotel from Grand Hyatt New York, a 1,300-room hotel in Midtown Manhattan where he previously served as general manager and area vice president.

Keith Potter - Executive Chef

14 January 2021 — Slated to open this March, Hyatt Centric Beale Street Memphis, a new build and the first full-service Hyatt branded hotel in Memphis, announces the appointment of Keith Potter as executive chef. Potter will curate the hotel's culinary program across all outlets including the lobby bar, Latin-American inspired CIMAS eatery and Beck & Call whiskey bar.
