The soon-to-be-opened new top luxury hotel in Shandong province, Kempinski Hotel Jinan, is now headed by General Manager Christian Wiendieck, who has just been appointed to his new position. A seasoned hotelier, he can look back on an outstanding career of more than 20 years within the Kempinski brand, joining the Jinan pre-opening team from his last assignment as general manager at Kempinski Hotel Fuzhou.
A native German, Christian Wiendieck started his Kempinski journey in 1997 in the Food and Beverage Department at Kempinski Hotel Bristol Berlin and continued as Food and Beverage Director at Kempinski Hotel Munich Airport. After three years at Grand Hotel des Bains Kempinski St. Moritz, he was promoted to his first general manager position at Kempinski Hotel Adriatic in Croatia, followed by stints in Italy and the United Arab Emirates. In 2010 he moved to China and successfully managed several Kempinski hotels in the position of general manager, providing him with rich experience in brand building, operations and new hotel openings. Christian Wiendieck holds an MBA from Reims Management School and a Hotel Business Economist Diploma from Heidelberg Hotel Management School.

A hotelier with a wealth of experience championing hotel preopenings and managing landmark properties, Péan has over 30 years of experience in the luxury hospitality field, including senior management roles with Hilton Hotels in Vienna, Cairo, Adelaide, Fiji and Shanghai.

9 December 2020 — From the pulsating Thai metropolis of Bangkok, Andreas Magnus is currently moving to the snow-covered dream landscape of the Swiss Alps. The 37-year-old Magnus has just been appointed by Kempinski Hotels as General Manager at Kempinski Palace Engelberg, which will open in spring 2021 and is only 40km away from Lucerne, and at Frutt Mountain Resort (formerly known as Frutt Lodge & Spa and Frutt Family Lodge), which will start its winter season on 19 December.
