  • PRG Hospitality Group​, the Los Angeles-based independent hotel company behind a collection of award-winning boutique properties throughout California, has announced the appointment of its first group executive chef, Jason Niederkorn. Expanding upon his current role as executive chef of PRG's acclaimed The Pink Cabana restaurant at Sands Hotel & Spa in Indian Wells, Niederkorn's new position will also have him overseeing emerging and future culinary development for PRG's rapidly growing portfolio of hotels.

The Pink Cabana debuted to much acclaim in June 2018 and has elevated the culinary landscape in the Coachella Valley community to new heights since its opening, with particular attention paid to its popular annual collaboration dinners featuring Niederkorn and mentor Jeremiah Tower of Michelin-starred Stars (San Francisco) fame. The Pink Cabana has been heralded as one of the Coachella Valley's best new restaurants by Palm Springs Life, The Desert Sun, Eater and more, and has enjoyed consistent 5-star reviews from locals and hotel guests alike.

Trained at San Francisco's Culinary Academy, Niederkorn is also known for his award-winning work at the Hotel Jerome Auberge in Aspen, Newport Beach's Aubergine and the Michelin-starred Magazin in Salzburg, Austria. He has won numerous accolades from Forbes and Condé Nast Traveler, among others.

Niederkorn will continue to be based in Indian Wells where he will remain Executive Chef of The Pink Cabana while simultaneously providing direction and guidance on the portfolio's future food & beverage concepts and endeavors.

PRG is known for its award-winning hotels throughout the state, including four consecutive ​Condé Nast Traveler Hot List h​onorees: Casa Laguna Hotel & Spa, Holiday House Palm Springs, Sands Hotel & Spa and The Prospect Hollywood, which debuted in early 2020. In 2020, the team debuted White Water in Cambria and the redesign of San Luis Creek Lodge in San Luis Obispo.
