Hyatt Place New York Chelsea today announced today that Gary Maida has been appointed as the hotel's new Area Director of Operations of the 510-room hotel, which is expected to open August 2021. In this role Maida will be directly responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the hotel, including overseeing the hotel's associates and ensuring guests encounter the thoughtful service for which the Hyatt Place brand is known. Hyatt Place New York Chelsea is set to offer spacious guestrooms in the heart of Manhattan's eclectic Chelsea neighborhood by Hyatt.
Prior to joining Hyatt Place New York Chelsea, Maida was the General Manger of Hyatt Place New York Times Square and Area General Manager for Hyatt Place Midtown South and Hyatt Herald Square.

13 October 2021 — After graduating from University of Richmond's Robins School of Business with a degree in marketing, de Tessan launched her hospitality career at Hyatt Regency New Brunswick in events. She quickly moved up the ranks, relocating to New York and assuming her role as event sales manager at Grand Hyatt New York in 2007.
4 October 2021 — Holston House appointed Colby Mitchell as the Director of Food & Beverage. In this role, Mitchell leads the culinary teams at the boutique hotel's signature restaurant TENN, historically-inspired cocktail bar Bar TENN and rooftop bar TENN on Top to create memorable and innovative culinary experiences for the hotel's guests and Nashville locals.
