Raquel Toro

Ambassador Chicago, a JDV by Hyatt Hotel, announces the appointment of Raquel Toro to senior sales manager. Toro brings more than two decades of hotel experience and expertise in boutique hotel group sales to her new role.

Prior to joining Ambassador Chicago, Toro worked for Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants for more than 20 years. According to Toro, she "fell into" her first position with the company, a role as front desk agent at downtown Chicago's Hotel Allegro, when she happened upon a marquee sign advertising that the property was looking for "those who love to work with heart." She applied, and as they say, the rest is history.

Toro worked her way up from front desk agent to convention services manager at Hotel Allegro before being promoted to area group sales manager for three Chicago Kimpton properties in 2008. She assumed the role of city group manager, where she now oversaw the group sales and marketing for five Kimpton hotels in 2014. Most recently, she held the position of senior sales manager leading a team of eight at Hotel Palomar. As a result of her strong record of success, Toro has earned several accolades throughout her career including Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants' Group Sales Manager of the Year, Kimpton's highest sales honor.

Toro is a proud Chicago native and spends time giving back to local organizations like the Greater Chicago Food Depository and as a parent volunteer at her daughters' schools, Hampton School and Whitney Young High School, which is also Toro's alma mater. Outside of work, she enjoys rooting for the Chicago White Sox, rocking out at a concert or festival such as Lollapalooza, and spending time with friends and family at the pool on weekends. Fun fact about Raquel: she's been to Paris five times and calls it her "favorite city in the world" (besides Chicago, of course.)
