Steve Solberg

Outrigger Hospitality Group today announced management appointment at the Outrigger Kona Resort and Spa - the 22-acre oceanfront property on Hawai'i Island that is slated to re-open under the Outrigger brand in late August. Seasoned hospitality executive, Steve Solberg will be the resort's general manager.

Steve Solberg will be responsible for all aspects of resort operations for this culturally rich property, with an eye to service culture, maximized operations, host and guest satisfaction as well as the bottom line.

He was general manager (GM) at Outrigger Guam Beach Resort for nearly six years and before Guam lived in Missouri where he was GM of the Renaissance Grand St. Louis. Prior to that, he spent seven years with PCH Hotels and Resorts, the leading management company for full-service Marriott hotel products, as chief executive officer. Steve has also been GM and chief operating officer at Grand Marriott Resort, Golf Club and Spa in Point Clear, Alabama, and GM at the Embassy Suites Hotel in New York City. His career highlights also include GM positions with Promus Hotels and The Kimpton Hotel Group.

Solberg holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Northwood University in Michigan.
