Jonathan Macioce

The Sanctuary Beach Resort, a top Independent Collection ® Hotels & Resorts property, today announced the appointment of seasoned hospitality expert Jonathan Macioce as its new general manager. Bringing more than a decade of luxury hotel management experience to his role, Macioce will oversee day-to-day hotel operations, guest relations and property development, showcasing the localized, unique luxury travel experiences that Independent Collection properties are known and celebrated for.

An industry veteran, Macioce began his hospitality career in 2006 with Hilton Worldwide in a food and beverage management role before opening The Ritz Carlton, Charlotte in 2009. Macioce then moved to Saint Simons Island, Georgia in 2012 where he took on the director of banquets role for the five-star Sea Island Resort in Sea Island, Georgia. He led the banquets team through three official sanctioned Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) tournaments, where he led food and beverage efforts for each, ensuring a smooth, upscale experience. Macioce then returned to work with The Ritz-Carlton portfolio, accepting an assistant director of food and beverage role at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island in Fernandina Beach, Florida. Macioce was responsible for more than $30 million in food and beverage operations, including one of Florida's top five-diamond restaurants and signature resort experience, Salt.

In 2015, Macioce's passion for hospitality led him to Southern California where took on the role of director of food and beverage for Montage Laguna Beach, an award-winning luxury property in California's upscale Laguna Beach community. Macioce led more than 30 managers and 300 associates and brought in more than $40 million in food and beverage revenue for the resort which led to his promotion to director of operations in 2018. In this role, he took on additional responsibilities to continue elevating the resort experience, overseeing the five-star spa, rooms division, retail space, security and engineering in addition to managing food and beverage operations before accepting his role as general manager with The Sanctuary Beach Resort earlier this year.

A Long Island, New York native, Macioce is a graduate of Johnson and Wales University in Charlotte where he studied hospitality management. In his spare time, he loves to cook, play hockey and tennis, travel with his wife, Chantel and spend time with his son who was born in June.
