Rachel Wilson

The Hotel Zags, a new boutique hotel in Downtown Portland focused on outdoors immersion, inclusivity and exceptional guest experience, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Rachel Wilson to the role of General Manager. Ms. Wilson brings an exceptional background in boutique hotel operations to The Hotel Zags and the Sage Independent Hotel Collection and will support The Hotel Zags in its commitment to providing an authentic, diverse and unique Portl and experience.

Wilson joins Sage Hotel Management most recently from Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants where she held the leadership positions of general manager and assistant general manager at the Hotel Vintage Portland. In this role, she won Best Director of 2020 from the Pebblebrook Hotel's Annual Pebby Awards, raised the guest satisfaction scores to reflect the hotel's exceptional service, and created a workplace culture that allowed its staff to learn and grow. Wilson's operational leadership experience also includes positions held as front office manager with B enchmark Hospitality at the Spanish Garden Inn, Santa Barbara, CA as well as guest services manager on Duty for the Crowne Plaza Ventura Beach, CA.

Wilson received her formal education from California State University Channel Islands where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications. In her free time, Rachel and her wife Kelly love to attend live sports events and are Portland Thorns FC season ticket holders. She also loves spending time outside, playing soccer, hiking and snow skiing, and plans to continue to expand and support The Hotel Zags outdoor offerings for guests and local community alike.
