The Joseph, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Nashville, is pleased to announce the appointment of Pilar Ortizas director of people and culture. With experience at globally recognized establishments across the world, the hospitality industry veteran reinforce the new hotel as the premier luxury destination in Nashville.

Pilar Ortiz joins the hotel with more than twenty years of experience in hospitality, human resources, recruitment, and project leadership. In her new position as director of people and culture, Ortiz oversees all aspects of the hotel's people and culture division, including employee relations, career development and staff trainings.

Prior to her role at The Joseph Nashville, Ortiz served as the director of people and culture at Four Seasons Hotel Seattle and Four Seasons Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo and as the director of human resources at Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City.

18 October 2021 — Marriott also announced that Ty Breland has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, effective at the end of October. A 17-year Marriott veteran, Breland has held a number of senior roles with the company spanning corporate and continent responsibilities.

18 October 2021 — Mohamed was previously at the Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel in Japan as assistant director of rooms. Here he handled over 1,000 keys and 250 team members, responsible for the entire rooms division, including front of house, housekeeping and fitness and recreation departments.
