Mehdi Othmani has been appointed Area General Manager at Baron Hotels & Resorts

Baron Hotels and Resorts has welcomed Mehdi Othmani as its new Area General Manager, a role in which he will guide the performance of the group's hotels in Egypt while also overseeing upcoming regional developments. His leadership remit includes properties in Cairo, Sharm El Sheikh and Sahl Hasheesh, in addition to new projects such as Baron Cascade and the planned opening in Zanzibar.

With more than three decades in the international hospitality sector, Mehdi has held senior operational positions with renowned luxury brands across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Red Sea. His experience spans resort leadership for properties exceeding 1,200 rooms, large-scale organizational oversight, and the management of diverse teams of up to 1,500 employees.

Throughout his career, he has led major renovation initiatives, supported new-build projects, and strengthened commercial and operational systems across multi-property portfolios. His approach blends strategic vision with hands-on management, delivering improved service culture, efficient operations and stronger financial performance.

Fluent in several languages and known for his collaborative leadership style, Mehdi is recognized for developing strong teams and aligning operations with long-term brand objectives. His appointment underlines Baron Hotels and Resorts' continuous commitment to strengthening quality, enhancing guest experience and expanding its regional presence.
