Marvin Baker

Founder at the Green Earth Appeal

Baker

Marvin, a sales and marketing specialist by trade, is the founder of the social and environmental not for profit (and official tree planting partner of the UNE Trillion Tree Campaign) The Green Earth Appeal. The Green Earth Appeal was founded in 2009, after Marvin experienced severe poverty and witnessed children forced into begging for food, whilst working in South Africa and was set up to provide a sustainable way of life for communities forced into aid reliance. Through the provision of tools, infrastructure, education (in the environment and agroforestry farming), along with fruit trees, The Green Earth Appeal provides a sustainable way of life for the communities it helps, not just for now but for generations to come. Through it’s system of ‘exit strategy aid’ The Green Earth Appeal’s initiatives hit 9 of the 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations Environment. In the month of its 10th anniversary, The Green Earth Appeal planted its 1,000,000th tree.
