Kate  ShehanKate Shehan is Vice President at HVS Executive Search based in the Baltimore/Washington DC area. Kate began her hospitality career in high school and has enjoyed the industry ever since. Upon college graduation, she spent 12 years in operations and human resources as a General Manager, HR manager and Director of Training of an upscale restaurant company. This foundation led her to a career in human resources in the hospitality industry as Vice President of Human Resources for a golf management company, a parking management company, fine dining and upscale restaurants, as well as fast casual concepts. She earned a MBA degree from Loyola University Maryland and is a graduate from Penn State University’s Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management School with a BS. She volunteers her time at the Alumni in the Classroom Event for the Penn State Hospitality School speaking and mentoring students. She delivered break-out educational classes and participated on panels at numerous National Restaurant Association Shows in Chicago. Proudly, she served on the Board of Directors and as the President of the CHART, (Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers), receiving the Spirit of CHART Award for her commitment and contribution.
