The Summit will kick-off with keynote panel titled “The Shanghai Tower: Bringing China’s Tallest Building to Reality.”

This panel will highlight the Cornell influence on China’s tallest building, featuring Art Gensler, ’57, founder & Chairman of Gensler, designer of Shanghai Tower and Lee Pillsbury, ’69, founder, co-chairman, and CEO of Thayer Lodging Group which is appointed by Shanghai Tower Group to manage (in partnership with Jin Jiang Hotels) Shanghai Tower J-Hotel, the world’s highest luxury hotel. Joining Art and Lee will be Kent Kleinman, the Gale and Ira Drukier Dean, Cornell College of Architecture, Art, and Planning, and Michael Johnson, Dean of the Cornell School of Hotel Administration.

Additional Summit topics will include an exploration of new urban paradigms with College of Architecture, Art, and Planning faculty, as well as panels presented by the Cornell Center for Real Estate and Finance and the School of Hotel Administration.
