HTNG will host its first Hackathon on 25-27 January in-person at the Plug and Play Tech Center in Sunnyvale, CA.

HTNG's Hackathon, titled "Hack the Night," will recognize the importance and significance the hospitality industry places on the integration between systems. With integrations generating useful data for hospitality companies to leverage, there are always opportunities to enhance a guest's impression.

Over the three-day event, hackers will work through the challenge of designing an innovative solution to elevate the hotel experience for a guest. Hackathon entries may include guest- or staff-facing applications or tools, or another innovation for the industry.

API providers will administer building blocks, and participants will work in teams to develop state-of-the-art prototypes that can serve in moving the industry forward. Competition entries will be judged on the impact a submission has on the guest journey and how likely a modern hospitality company is able to adopt such a solution at scale. Solutions will also be evaluated based on API usage, as well as HTNG standards adoption.

Oracle Hospitality will be the Title Sponsor at HTNG's Hack the Night, where they will provide many technical resources, including their APIs for participants to use.
