By nabbing Orbitz in a pricey deal, Henry Silverman's outfit will now go head-to-head against InterActiveCorp in online travel. Longtime dealmaker Henry R. Silverman is at it again. On Sept. 29 Silverman's Cendant (CD ) announced a deal to buy online travel operator Orbitz. The $1.25 billion cash purchase should help travel and real estate giant Cendant play catch-up in the online travel-booking biz.
