TRUST International Adds Hurdle Rate Concept To Trust Res Software - New CRS Function to Revolutionize Revenue Management for Hospitality Industry

ORLANDO, FL, TRUST International, a member of the Bertelsmann Group and a global provider of reservations technology for the hospitality industry, today announced new technology advances to TRUST Res, the company's core central reservation software (CRS). The TRUST Res software has the added ability to evaluate the hurdle rate, or opportunity cost.

The hurdle rate can be loaded on a daily basis in the availability module. For every request, TRUST Res will then check all rates in the module and only display those rates and rooms that are equal to or higher than the average hurdle rate for the stay. GDS/Internet channels will only display products with a value above or equal to the average hurdle rate of the stay. Reservations coming from all booking channels will also go through a check and only be accepted by the system if the rate is above or equal to the calculated value. The hurdle rate calculation is essential to a hotel in optimizing sales and room turnover.

"We expect the new hurdle rate function to revolutionize the area of revenue management for our clients," stated Connie Rheams, President of TRUST in the Americas. "Revenue management has come to the forefront of the travel marketplace as the industry becomes increasingly competitive. It is critical for revenue management and central reservation systems to work together seamlessly," added Rheams.
