CHIP Hospitality Welcomes The Kindness Crew To Greater Toronto

VANCOUVER, BC -- Spontaneous and outrageous acts of charity and kindness are at the heart of a three-month tour across Canada by four young Canadians who arrive in Greater Toronto today.

The Extreme Kindness Tour will host a Thanksgiving Kindness breakfast at CHIP Hospitality's Sandalwood Suites Hotel in Mississauga from 9 -11a.m. on October 14 and will be conducting spontaneous acts of Kindness throughout the Greater Toronto area during their four-day visit.

The Kindness Crew (Chris Bratseth, Erik Hanson, Brad Stokes-Bennett and Val Litwin) and Sandalwood Suites Hotel associates along with other local VIPs are hosting the Thanksgiving Kindness Breakfast as a "food-raiser" for the Food Bank. Sandalwood Suites Hotel is at 5050 Orbitor Drive in Mississauga. Admission is free with a non-perishable food bank donation.

CHIP Hospitality has been an ongoing sponsor and partner in the Extreme Kindness Tour 2002 since the tour launched on August 27th at its' hotel in Vancouver, The Residence Inn By Marriott. Ten western Canadian CHIP hotels have hosted "Kindness Events" with over 300 hotel associates participating in the tour to-date. Hotel employee-associates from all operations including housekeeping to management have visited soup kitchens, delivered food and clothing to shelters, and, spread smiles to guests and locals.

'Extreme Kindness Rates' as low as CDN $59 are available at CHIP Hospitality hotels in Canada and Washington State, with partial proceeds going to support local charities. The hotels provides accommodation, meals and meeting space to the Kindness Crew, and further supports the tour by rallying its 7000 employee-associates around the program.

Other 'Hotels with Heart' CHIP programs include 'Friends in Need,' a national program developed to fight homelessness that provides hotel rooms discounted up to 75% during the Christmas period so that friends and families can be together for the holiday season. A donation of $10-$15 per night for each reservation is distributed to homeless shelters in each community. Over the past two years the corporation has raised $227,000 to fight homelessness across Canada. In addition, CHIP Hospitality helps Aboriginal students further their studies in tourism through a scholarship program that supports the Foundation for the Advancement of Aboriginal Youth.
