Calvin Stovall was named vice president - brand marketing for Homewood Suitesby Hilton in March 2002. In this position he is responsible for development and execution of Homewood Suites by Hilton's national marketing efforts, including brand positioning in the marketplace, advertising, promotions, direct marketing, public relations, media planning and e-business marketing efforts to drive brand revenue, promote awareness and increase occupancy for the more than 100 Homewood Suites by Hilton hotels. Stovall has more than 16 years of experience in the hospitality industry, beginning his career as a front desk representative for a limited-service hotel and quickly moving to assistant general manager for the Embassy Suites Hotel in Memphis as part of the Promus Hotel Corporation's President's Associate accelerated management program. In 1995 he was promoted to manager of new products and services development within the corporation's consumer research department. In his last position, Stovall served as senior director - brand marketing, where he built a highly effective brand awareness program for Homewood Suites by Hilton, that directly contributed to the brand's, awareness and performance growth. Stovall received his master's degree from Cornell University's School of Hospitality Administration and his bachelor's degree in business management from Chicago State University.
