CONFERENCE

ENTER2004@Cairo celebrates the 11th anniversary of the ENTER conference and an established history of innovation in thinking in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Tourism and Travel. ENTER is recognised as the annual international conference where practitioners and researchers in the ICT in Travel and Tourism domains meet. The event is organised by the International Federation of Information Technology in Travel and Tourism (IFITT). ENTER 2004 will continue this tradition of providing a unique forum of exchange among academics, industry and government. The conference has continued to attract growing numbers of participants and ENTER 2003 set new attendance records - we expect Cairo to continue this excellent tradition! See to keep current with Conference details.

PAPER SUBMISSIONS AND REVIEW PROCESS

ALL submissions will be considered as potential full paper submissions for the research track; however, within this track there will also be streams

addressing:

  • Work in Progress
  • EU Projects
  • Research & Industry Collaboration

The official language of the conference is English. Please send an Abstract of no more than 1200 words by July 11th, 2003 (by email using Word or RTF only) to the research chair Professor Andrew J Frew ([email protected]). Abstracts should clearly state the (proposed) background, purpose, methodology, expected results and conclusions of the work to be described in the final paper. All abstracts will be peer blind reviewed and authors should receive feedback by July 25th, 2003.

The final acceptance will be based upon double blind peer review of the full-length paper, which must be completed by September 24th 2003 and sent to the research chair. Final papers should be structured as follows: introduction; theory / issues; methods / procedures; results; conclusions; references. Please refer to the Journal of Information Technology & Tourism (JITT) style guide for information on referencing standards that must be rigorously adhered to. Please also pay close attention to the inclusion of appropriate key words. The author guidelines will appear on the website shortly but in the interim anyone wishing a copy please email [email protected] directly.

The second review round will also decide whether a paper is accepted directly as a full paper or is directed to one of the other streams. Accepted full papers will be published in the conference proceedings (Springer-Verlag) to be distributed to the participants at the conference. An award for the best research paper will be presented during the conference.

PLEASE HELP: A significant cause of delay and extra work for the review teams last year was caused by incorrectly formatted work. Given the likely volume of submissions this year we shall have to take a strict line with any work which does not conform to the guidelines - it may be rejected without review.

Authors whose papers are accepted are required to register for the conference. Failure to register for the conference will result in the work being removed from the program and the conference proceedings.
