Protea Hotelwilderness Resort And The Woodlands Group Of Wellness Centres Open A World-Class Wellness Centre & Spa

Pebble Leisure, the development company behind the recent refurbishment of the Protea Hotel Wilderness Resort, has announced the completion of the Wellness Centre & Spa situated in the hotel. Approximately R1,5 million has been invested by Pebble Leisure in a bid to enhance the appeal of the hotel as well as establish facilities currently not available on the Garden Route.

"Facilities of this nature are rarely encountered in South Africa, and coupled with the philosophy embedded in the people of Woodlands, this centre is set to become not only a destination but a benchmark for other establishments. Wilderness is a perfect location for a Wellness Centre and I am pleased to have reached an agreement with the developers" says Marisa Farina.

Woodlands operate Wellness Centre Spa's in the Gauteng region with much success as each centre is meeting a unique market need. "Woodlands have a very good reputation in Gauteng. Our services are tailor-made to meet a client's needs and our qualified therapists are further trained to meet and fulfill the Woodland's unique philosophy and ethos. We strive to meet more than just the physical needs of our clients by considering their well being on an emotional level as well. We believe we offer an affordable experience and one of our objectives for Woodlands at the Sea Wellness Centre and Spa in Wilderness is to become a renowned destination for the South African market which will infiltrate the life and become a way of living for each individual who leaves our premises," concludes Marisa.

Pebble Leisure, who developed the Centre, have confirmed that there are twelve treatment rooms which include: a Rasul chamber - only the second in South Africa; Vichy shower; hydrotherapy bathrooms; various wet rooms and massage rooms that accommodate individuals as well as couples; sauna; heated jet pool; gym as well as an entire ayurvedic treatment programme. Overnight Spa guests are accommodated in bedrooms complete with all required amenities and a health kitchen established to cater for special dietary requirements.

Speaking on behalf of the owners, Mark Buck of Pebble Leisure said: "It is a pleasure to see the confidence that Marisa has in the property and I am positive she will make a resounding success of the project. I agree the area is ideal for such a facility and it will also be an asset to tourism along the Garden Route. Combined with the R15 million refurbishment program, recently completed at the hotel, I anticipate that the coming summer season will see a revival in tourism at Wilderness."
