Richard M. Brooks is vice president of the TWE Group, a hospitality consulting resource. As part of the TWE Group team, Richard provides lodging operations and technology consulting expertise to the company's client base. Previously to joining the TWE Group, Richard was Vice President of Service Delivery Systems for MeriStar Hotels and Resorts in Washington, DC. He was responsible for brand standards, business processes and best practices for all MeriStar properties, as well as being the corporate champion for the company's intranet site. Prior to MeriStar, Richard served as Vice President, Operations for Bridgestreet Accommodations, a multinational corporate housing company, before MeriStar acquired it in 2000. Richard is a 13-year veteran of Stouffer Hotels and Resorts and Renaissance Hotels International, where he served as Vice President of Rooms Management and Director of Information Services. As Vice President of Rooms Management, Richard was responsible for establishing and maintaining best practices in the company's Rooms Division, as well as the day-to-day operation of the company's Central Reservation Office and Office of Guest Relations. As Director of Information Services, he established and implemented company-wide technology standards. Richard has also held positions with the Boca Raton Resort and Club, Fidelity Investments, Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, NCR Corporation and Purdue University. Richard earned B.A. and M.B.A. degrees from The School of Hospitality Business at Michigan State University and currently serves on its Alumni Association Board of Directors. He is a member of the International Hospitality Technology Hall of Fame and is designated as a Certified Hotel Administrator by the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AH&LA). Mr. Brooks is an active member of Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP), serving on several HITECsm Advisory Committees and the HFTP Education Committee. He is also a past co-chair of the AH&MA Technology Committee, as well as a past member of the AH&MA Strategic Planning Committee. Richard lives near Cleveland, Ohio with his wife and two children.
