NEW YORK CITY-- SAFLOK, a leading developer and manufacturer of electronic locks and access management systems, will introduce Confidant MT™ its next technological advancement for European locks, at the 2003 International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show at the Jacob Javits Convention Center on November 8-12.

Confidant MT
Confidant MT features a snap-on, metal lock trim that fits in place of any European Din standard mortise lock (that has an 8 mm spindle), offering properties a cost efficient solution for new door installations, or as a replacement to any European Din mortise lock.

The Confidant MT makes it easy for properties of any size and with any standard European Din locks to upgrade to electronic locks. Employing the latest advanced technology, including the non-volatile FLASH memory feature, the Confidant MT allows properties to store up to 5,900 entries and introduce new software features to the Windows-based operating system without changing or removing hardware. Containing all of the next generation features of SAFLOK System 6000, the Confidant MT allows historic properties to benefit from today's technology without sacrificing the provenance of their structure.

Products and Innovations

Additionally, SAFLOK will demonstrate feature upgrades to several of its core products, including MessengerTM™, System 6000™ and its new Insertion Encoder.

Messenger is SAFLOK's next generation locking systems technology. It now converts stand-alone, battery operated door locks into wireless access network control systems. This technology enables a user to communicate with locks without visiting each door. For example, Messenger can alert staff of a door ajar or when its batteries need changing, or remotely change a key's room assignment when a room has been cleaned and is available for new guests. Messenger remotely performs all of the same functions as a handheld programmer, but its equipment remains at the front desk where it's most needed.

Messenger is a complete, open architecture system, operating independently from any other "room control" system. However, its optional programming design is flexible enough to interface with other property management systems, including heating, cooling and lighting.

SAFLOK's Insertion Encoder is designed to encode magnetic stripe, smart and memory cards. It operates in conjunction with SAFLOK's Windows-based System 6000, or its more compact operating system, Passport TM. The unit is universally compatible with any network connection, including RS232 (serial), USB and Ethernet through TCP/IP, providing unlimited portability and check-in convenience.
