Cendant's Trust International Introduces New Voyager CRS Version 4.0 Software For Hotel Companies

Greater Multilingual Capabilities, Stronger PMS Interfaces, Seamless Rate Transmission, Improved Reports among Over 45 Technological Innovations

PARSIPPANY, NJ, TRUST International, a subsidiary of Cendant Corporation (NYSE: CD) and global provider of reservation and distribution solutions for the hospitality and leisure industry, today announced the release of the latest version of its popular "Voyager" CRS (central reservation system) software - Voyager CRS 4.0 - which includes more than 45 technological innovations and enhancements that deliver superior distribution value to hotels.

Widely considered one of the most advanced, flexible, Web-based reservation systems on the market, TRUST also announced that Voyager is now available in both traditional and self-service versions - which offer hotels the choice to operate Voyager using their own staff or to rely on TRUST's experts to build and maintain their electronic distribution content across worldwide distribution channels. The range of enhancements introduced in version 4.0 can benefit both traditional full-service clients, such as Mandarin Oriental and Posadas, as well as newer, self-service clients, such as NH Hoteles.

The many new features of Voyager CRS 4.0 include:

  • A new release of the Voyager Multilingual Web Booker which now provides content in Japanese, Cantonese and Mandarin, in addition to the previously available languages of English, French, Italian, German and Spanish. This improvement makes Voyager's booking technology the world's most multilingual, global, Web-based booking solution in the industry.
  • An enhanced, XML-based PMS (property management system) interface that supports reservation and rate downloads and uploads, profile uploads and availability uploads.
  • An interface with the IDeaS revenue-management system that allows optimized control of rates and availability in all distribution channels without manual intervention.
  • Enhancements to Voyager's Business Intelligence Module - called Voyager View - which includea narrowcast server that can deliver predefined reports, pivot tables and data cubes to a list of recipients on a predetermined schedule. Hotels can use these innovations to ensure that all appropriate staff receive the right reports on time, every time. Customers can even arrange for alerts to be sent to mobile phones when predetermined alert conditions are met.
  • A direct interface with WizCom's popular RateManager product, which provides seamless transmission of new and updated public rates from Voyager directly to all four GDSs with the push of a button. Voyager 4.0 can also transmit certain new and updated negotiated rates to RateManager - enabling customers to simply add security information in RateManager's browser-based interface and then transmit instantly to the four GDS's. This capability results in dramatically reduced work for hotels that load large amounts of negotiated rates into a GDS.
  • Numerous other enhancements that improve group processing, the handling of child rates and reduce operating costs.

"We're very excited to be able to offer a self-service version of Voyager 4.0 and be of service to a whole new range of hospitality industry clients," said George Roukas, vice president, product development, Hospitality & Leisure, Cendant Travel Distribution Services. "Self-service clients can now enjoy all the benefits of a super-premium product like Voyager, but with special features that allow them to optimize the technology for their own operational models."

According to Roukas, "All of our clients, whether traditional or self-service, will enjoy the further integration that's available through this version of Voyager with WizCom's Easy Access Plus products, such as RateManager and HOD. This important linkage, the first of its kind, will continue to improve accuracy and reduce the cost and time to distribute Voyager's rate and property descriptive information throughout the distribution network. The standardized XML interfaces provided in this version also allow customers to build on the strengths of partner products like IDeaS RMS and the various PMSs to which they can now connect."

"Realizing our customers face critical challenges throughout their business, we work closely with them to best understand how we can provide the most valuable and cost-saving tools to reach their goals. Offering our clients productivity-enhancing capabilities like those contained in Voyager 4.0 allows them to serve more customers and allocate their resources more efficiently, resulting in improved profitability," said Ken Esterow, executive vice president, Supplier Services, Cendant Travel Distribution Services.
