Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts signs new Resort in Jumeirah Beach Development
Omar Al Askari added: "We are delighted to be in partnership with Mövenpick and we look forward to launching what we believe will be an exciting addition to Dubai's growing hospitality industry."
The Mövenpick Resort Jumeirah Beach is located in the heart of the Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR), a landmark project from the same team that developed Dubai Internet City (DIC) and Dubai Media City (DMC). JBR is a new concept of luxurious homes offering a year round beach resort lifestyle and offers the finest in family living complete with beach clubs, retail stores, restaurants, medical facilities, sports facilities, secure play areas for children, and a host of other amenities. The hotel is comprised of a Tower and a Podium, and the imaginative design has been influenced both by the property's proximity to the sea and JBR development. The Superior hotel will provide a complete infrastructure catering for the needs of both leisure and business travellers.
The Tower contains 298 guest rooms, including 13 Suites and 45 Executive Club Rooms, with the Podium housing all the public spaces including the Mövenpick Restaurant for around the clock dining, a speciality restaurant, Banqueting rooms and a Business Centre. A podium will provide guests easy access to the beach. There is a 400 square metre fully equipped Health Club and Spa and guests may also enjoy the facilities of the Beach Club that offers a wide choice of water sports, tennis courts and other sports facilities.
Andreas Mattmüller, Senior Vice President of MH&R Middle East said: "The Mövenpick Resort Jumeirah Beach is one of the crowning achievements of 2004 as the latest addition of our expanding network of deluxe hotels and Resorts across the Middle East. It will be the fourth hotel under our management in the United Arab Emirates, which proves how successful this market is for our hotel chain. We are strongly committed to continue developing the Mövenpick brand in key city and resort destinations in the United Arab Emirates.”
Recognising Dubai as a focal point of the Middle East, the Swiss domiciled MH&R entered the market last year with the Mövenpick Hotel Bur Dubai. The next property will be a 250-room hotel in Ajman with panoramic sea view, currently under planning and due to open late 2006. A further addition, scheduled to open in 2007, is the Mövenpick Hotel Pearl Dubai situated within the Media City Free Trade Zone.
Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts currently enjoys international representation with 70 hotels existing and under construction. MH&R manages two hotel types, the business and conference hotels and the holiday resorts. The business hotels are located near cities or airports and cater for the needs of business travellers. Holiday resorts are located in ideal leisure destinations.
