BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. | The Board of Directors of Hilton Hotels Corporation (NYSE:HLT) has approved the appointments of David A. Thompson to senior vice president and controller and W. Steven Standefer to senior vice president - tax. Thompson and Standefer are located in the Beverly Hills World Headquarters office and report to Robert M. La Forgia, executive vice president and chief financial officer.

"Both David and Steve are technically proficient finance professionals with demonstrated strong leadership skills," said La Forgia. "They have done an outstanding job of working through complex issues surrounding our pending acquisition of Hilton International, and we are confident that each will add significant value to the newly-combined company in the future."

Thompson, an 11-year Hilton employee, earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of Southern California and is a Certified Public Accountant. He worked for a large public accounting firm for eight years prior to joining Hilton.

Standefer joined the hospitality industry in 1995. He worked for Promus Corporation in 1999 when it was purchased by Hilton. He earned his bachelor of science degree in accounting from Arizona State University, is a Certified Public Accountant and spent six years working for large accounting firms prior to working for Hilton.
