DALLAS | Grand Hyatt DFW, the only Grand Hyatt in the United States located at an airport and one of the most upscale hotels at any airport in the world, today announced a novel concept in hospitality and culinary arts education nationwide: the Epicurean Studio. This interactive culinary learning experience, complete with a functional film-recording studio and set, is located in the middle of the hotel's fully operational main kitchen. Grand Hyatt DFW is the only upscale hotel offering this level of culinary experience anywhere in the United States.

"The Epicurean Studio was created to provide a unique, behind-the-scenes look at a true culinary operation," said Michael Stephens, general manager of the Grand Hyatt DFW. "With 'hands-on' training, preparation of a globally-inspired menu filmed live in our culinary studio, and the opportunity to tour some of the areas' finest wineries and vineyards where you will blend and bottle your own wine, you can't find anything like the Epicurean Studio experience anywhere else."

The inaugural weekend class begins Friday, June 16 through Sunday, June 18, 2006. This exclusive getaway will provide an intimate and unique culinary experience complete with one-on-one guided instruction, interactive cooking demonstrations and first-class dining courtesy of the hotel's Grand Met restaurant Executive Chef, Suttichai Sripolpa, and Chef D'Cuisine, Eric Dreyer.

"The Grand Hyatt has already been a huge success and a magnet for new international business and leisure travel to DFW and North Texas in its first year. We envisioned that the Grand Hyatt would deliver outstanding customer service and be unique in its offerings and amenities, and that has proven true with the launch of the Epicurean Studio, which will differentiate the Grand Hyatt DFW and the airport globally, as well as with our local travelers and residents," said Kevin Cox, chief operating officer at DFW International Airport.

Participants in the weekend getaway will be treated to deluxe suite accommodations for two for two nights; an exquisite, five-course dinner with wine pairings; a first-class, hands-on cooking class with the executive chefs; tours of the Epicurean Studio and local wineries; and use of a private car for an evening dinner anywhere of your choosing. All participants will receive a DVD of the interactive cooking experience and a professional Chef's coat as mementos. Valet parking for the weekend is also included.

"Our hotel is unlike any airport hotel you've ever visited. It's a wonderful, relaxing and beautiful amenity for those traveling to or from DFW International Airport," said Stephens. "We have experienced tremendous success since opening our doors in July 2005, and have continued to identify new opportunities to enhance our food and beverage offerings to airport customers, hotel patrons and the local community. For those travelers planning a visit to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, as well as residents in area communities, I am confident that the Epicurean Studio experience will offer an unparalleled culinary adventure that can serve as the perfect complement to any trip."

"As the 'front door to the world' for North Texas, DFW International Airport is always striving to bring new, unique opportunities to travelers that will positively impact the local economy; the Grand Hyatt is a key part of that strategy," continued DFW's Cox.

The Grand Hyatt DFW Hotel is owned by DFW International Airport and was a key addition in the Airport's $2.8 billion expansion in 2005, which included the hotel, International Terminal D and Skylink - the world's largest airport train.

The Epicurean Studio will be offered monthly. The total cost for the weekend getaway is $975 per couple. One-day culinary instruction experiences are available for $125 per person, with the option to add the tour of the winery and bottling of wine for an additional $80 per person.
