A wide variety of evolving technologies affects professional practices and consumer behavior in hospitality, travel, distribution, destination marketing, and attraction management. Although the main conference theme relates to tourism, mobility, and technology, other contributions that relate more generally to tourism marketing, tourism management, and tourist behavior will be considered for presentation and publication.
Potential topic areas include:
- Innovative technology management in tourism marketing
- Impacts of ICT for the tourism industry - Opportunities, challenges and future trends
- Strategic management of technology – The key to competitiveness in tourism Marketing
- Technology and service quality
- Technology and crisis management
- Events, attractions and technology
- Technological advances in transportation
- The distribution of technology costs (i.e. network, Internet Service Provider, satellite or cable) in tourism businesses
- Ethical issues raised by the application of technology in travel and tourism
- Mobility and security
- The application of technology in business travel and tourism
- The impacts of self service technologies in travel and tourism
- The use of the mobile phone in travel and tourism
- Etc.
Submission of Abstracts
Presentation abstracts (500 words) by both academics and practitioners are welcome in the following categories:
- Oral refereed paper presentations (academic)
- Case study and industry presentations
- Doctoral student session

Submission Requirements
Cover page: All abstracts must include a cover page with the following information:
- Contact person’s affiliation, address, phone #, email address
- Title of the paper
- Content area (either “Main Theme” or “Other Contributions”) and five key words
- In bold on upper right hand corner, indicate if it is a “student paper”
- For all authors: affiliation and email address
Paper format: The second page should contain the title and begin the 500 words abstract. In addition to the abstract, tables, figures, and references can be added. The abstract should be double-spaced and the font size should be no smaller than 12 point. Papers must be written in English and follow the guidelines of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, Fifth edition, or that of the Journal of Travel Research. Accepted papers and case studies will be published in the 2007 TTRA Europe Conference Proceedings. A selection of best papers will be published in a special issue of Tourism Analysis (Muzzo Uysal and Geoffrey Crouch, Editors in Chief; Klaus Weiermair, Regional Editor, Europe).
Conference Information | The TTRA Europe 2007 conference is hosted by the Center for Tourism Management at CERAM Sophia Antipolis, European School of Business. It will take place at Le Méridien Hotel, in Nice. At the best location in town, facing the Mediterranean Sea and a stone's throw from the Old Town, Le Meridien Nice is also only 10 minutes from Nice International Airport. Special conference rates have been negotiated at 140 euros, including breakfast, for “classic rooms.”
Conference fees:
- Full conference fee for TTRA members: 400 euros (50 euros off for early bird registration)
- Full conference fee for non TTRA members: 450 euros (50 euros off for early bird
- registration)
- One-day fee (Tuesday 24): 150 euros including lunch
- Half-day fee (Monday 23 or Wednesday 25): 100 euros, including coffee break
- Student conference fee: 50 euros. The student fee does not include meals
- Early bird registration must be completed by January 31, 2007
