Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts is adding a fourth property to its Thai Collection with the announcement of a planned beach resort on the island of Koh Samui in the Gulf of Thailand. The opening, scheduled for February 2007, will reveal a secluded island retreat on the island's northwest Laem Yai peninsula.

“With just 60 villas, Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui will be the perfect choice for an intimate getaway to an island that is both exotic and beautiful,” said Rainer Stampfer, who will be the General Manager of the new resort.

Each freestanding villa is built on stilts in traditional Thai style, with indoor and outdoor spaces including a large wooden deck with a daybed and lounge chairs, and a private plunge or lap pool. The resort will have a main pool with an outdoor restaurant and bar. Another restaurant and bar will have indoor and outdoor spaces with sunset views of the Gulf. The resort will also include tennis courts, a gym, library, small conference room, and Kids for All Seasons club. The Spa will have five treatment pavilions, each with two in-door and two out-door massage beds, a steam sauna, out-door bath and showers.

Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui will be the fourth property in a unique and diverse collection that also includes the renowned Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok in that city’s bustling core, Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai with its famed cooking school and Lanna-style pavilions, and the new Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle, a one-of-a-kind, all inclusive experience that includes elephant mahout training.
