Sol Meliá Launches Escape: The First Online Game In Spain Built Around Google Earth And Google Maps

At the beginning of October will launch a new online game built around the interactive map and satellite images offered by Google Earth and Google Maps. The combination of the map and satellite images provided by the popular search engine together with more than 400 hotels operated by the Spanish hotel chain in 35 countries will allow players to find out the exact location of all of the Sol Meliá hotels and get a chance to win great prizes and take part in a unique online experience.


Anybody who wants to play can sign up at and learn more about the way to play and to literally jump from hotel to hotel. The game is available in 7 different languages and is expected to be a global success.

Amongst all of the people that play the game Sol Meliá will provide the winner with one week stay in the Sol Meliá hotel of their choice including flights, as well as five further prizes of a weekend for two in any of the more than 400 hotels run by the chain worldwide.

Created by the agency McCann Interactive and, ESCAPE is expected to become one of the interactive events of the autumn, and one of the first interactive promotions of the age of Travel 2.0.
