DALLAS, TX/LONDON | Meeting Professionals International (MPI) involvement in EIBTM grows stronger and the association is involved in a number of initiatives at this year’s event in Barcelona.

The latest information on the European Meetings and Events Conference taking place in London in April 2008 plus the opening of offices in Singapore as well as planned future expansion will be their headline news.

Joyce Dogniez, CMM, MPI Director of Operations EMEA comments: "EIBTM is a major industry platform for us and the ideal opportunity to interact with the global meetings and incentive community and to inform everyone of our plans for 2008.”

MPI is also the sponsor of the MPI Technology Village @ EIBTM, which has already sold out of space due to demand and attracts the world’s leading cutting edge industry solutions including: Abstract and Speaker Management, Online Event and Meetings Management Tools, Event Production and Technical Management, Networking/Matchmaking/Scheduling and Venue Finding/Request for Proposals, to name a few.

MPI has also joined forces with EIBTM to provide selected speakers and to assist in defining the content for the EIBTM Agency Programme. The sessions planned include: ‘Beyond cost savings – a new approach for leveraging meetings, events and incentives to achieve business results’ presented by Christine Duffy, Maritz Travel Company; and ‘Try to understand better who is buying & how’ which will be presented by Bernard Garcia, European Institute of Purchasing Management (EIPM).

Other show promotions will include a special membership rate for Hosted Buyers, exhibitors and trade visitors interested in joining MPI, the world’s leading global community for the industry. A rate of €325 instead of €375, waiving the admission fee, will be offered during EIBTM. As an incentive to Buyers and trade visitors MPI will also offer non-members a complimentary voucher to attend a local chapter educational event in their home country to experience first hand one of the benefits of joining MPI – the ability to benefit from educational and networking opportunities to enhance their own personal development.

MPI will also encourage members to collect their ‘MPI Member’ and ‘I BUY MPI’ ribbons from their stand (N850) along with the possibility to take skills assessment and access the Culture Active tool.

Last year MPI recruited 43 new members, including 2 members from China as well as celebrating the MPI Spain 100th member.
