PARSIPPANY, N.J. | Wyndham Hotels and Resorts has opened the 282-room Wyndham® DFW Airport North hotel in Irving, Texas, continuing a nationwide expansion that has added 20 hotels to the Wyndham system during the last 12 months.

A $13 million renovation, nearly completed, transformed the former Holiday Inn Select hotel into an upscale, full-service hotel with guest room and exterior renovations reflecting Wyndham signature designs by Michael Graves & Associates, a widely known architecture and design firm based in Princeton, N.J.

Every guest room has been renovated and equipped with Wyndham Be Well bedding, Bath & Body Works® True Blue® Spa bath care line as well as coffeemakers, alarm clock radios with mp3/iPodTM adapters, energy-saving lighting and the Wyndham Smart Chair, a functional lounge chair with built-in power, Internet outlets and pivoting table arms, all designed by Michael Graves.

Next spring, the hotel will debut “Eat. Refresh. Live.” a combination café, barista and food mart that transforms from a coffee bar with breakfast service during the day to a cocktail bar with casual dining at night.

The hotel also features 12,500 square feet of event space with an exclusive “Banquetology” catering experience to energize meetings and events, outdoor pool, fitness facility with sauna and business center. All rooms will feature wireless Internet service.

“The addition of the Wyndham DFW Airport North continues the Wyndham brand’s nationwide expansion, providing our guests with properties in the most convenient locations,” said Peter Strebel, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts president. “Once the renovation project is complete, the Wyndham DFW Airport North will be among the first properties to fully implement Wyndham’s new Michael Graves design standards.”

The hotel, which offers complimentary 24-hour airport shuttle and boarding pass services, is located at 4441 W. John Carpenter Freeway in Irving, less than three miles from DFW International Airport and close to area golf courses, the Grapevine Mills Mall, Texas Stadium, Las Colinas, Six Flags Over Texas, Lone Star Race Track, Galleria Mall and downtown Dallas.

“We are thrilled to join the Wyndham family and offer our guests the personalization and innovative service that Wyndham is known for,” said Susan King, vice president of franchise communications for Lodgian Inc., the hotel’s owner. “Upon completion, the Wyndham DFW Airport North will fully represent the future look of Wyndham with Michael Graves-designed interiors and in-room amenities.”
