First Global Network Of Travel And Tourism Communications And Marketing Specialists Joins Unwto

Tourism Trademark was officially ratified as an affiliate member of the United Nations World Tourism Organization at the UNWTO general assembly held in Cartagena, Colombia. This membership of the UNWTO business council reflects the prestige and international recognition that Tourism Trademark has achieved in its first year of activity.

Tourism Trademark was founded as a network at the end of 2006 with the objective of providing the world travel and tourism industry with specialised communications and marketing services of the highest quality. By bringing together leading professionals in their respective markets the Tourism Trademark brand acts as quality guarantee for pan national communications and marketing campaigns for tourist destinations or travel products and services.

These same assurances of professionalism and ethical business practices are offered across the whole scope of the tourism industry by UNWTO and it was considered logical and consistent with the network's quality-based strategy that Tourism Trademark should work as closely as possible with the UNWTO.

Karen Weiner Escalera of KWE group, Tourism Trademark’s representative for the U.S. and Canada, said “As a global network specialising exclusively in tourism marketing and communications, Tourism Trademark shares many of the values that are championed by the UNWTO, specifically our belief in importance of promoting responsible and sustainable tourism development and in the role of public sector / private sector collaboration towards this goal. We therefore look forward to being active and productive members of the UNWTO”.

Tourism Trademark is an international organization of independent Marketing and Communications agencies serving travel, hospitality and destination clients. The network operates seamlessly across national borders while maintaining the independence and local specialization of its members. Since January 2007 the network has spread to cover UK, Germany, France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, China, Singapore, Argentina, Mexico and from early 2008, Russia.
