The hotel company Sol Meliá will reopen one of its most emblematic hotels on 1 May, the Meliá de Mar Hotel, after a thorough renovation of the hotel facilities. The renovation, directed by the architect Álvaro Sans, has provided the hotel with the new cutting-edge image of the Meliá brand, and has also provided guests with surroundings that create a perfect symbiosis between the Land and the Sea, and in which fine art also has a major part to play.

Built in 1964 by the prestigious Spanish architect José María Coderch, and considered one of the finest examples of modern architecture in the Balearic Islands, from May the Meliá de Mar will offer guests a choice of 144 rooms, all of them with spectacular views of the Mediterranean and equipped with the latest facilities to create truly unforgettable hotel experiences for guests. Some of the rooms are included in The Level, one of the most important features of the new Meliá brand, providing the most exclusive service to the most discerning guests.

Amongst the new features that will gradually be introduced at the Meliá de Mar are the Yhi Spa, a place for guests to revive their body, spirit and mind through some of the most innovative spa treatments available, and also new concepts in cuisine creating a fusion of the virtues of Mediterranean cuisine with the most contemporary international specialities.

Fine art is also a permanent feature in the hotel, with the corridors being converted into authentic art galleries, enhanced by cylindrical lamps formed by contemporary and abstract works by various European artists.

The Meliá de Mar is thus destined to become a point of reference for the hotel industry in Mallorca, a place where guests may enjoy the finest service and a great range of sensorial experiences to make their stay a truly unforgettable experience of a genuine fusion between the Land and the Sea.
