White Lodging Names Steve Ransone Vice President Of Talent And Organizational Capability

MERRILLVILLE, IN | White Lodging announced the promotion of Steve Ransone to the position of Vice President of Talent and Organizational Capability to oversee the company’s recruiting and succession planning efforts nationwide.

Ransone takes on this role from his recent position as General Manager of the 306-room Chicago Courtyard by Marriott Magnificent Mile. “With White Lodging doubling their managed portfolio over the next five years, I couldn’t image a better time to step into this position,” says Ransone. “Having come through the company ranks myself, I not only have an exciting story to tell, but have numerous and incredibly diverse career opportunities for individuals as we grow.”

Since its inception in 1985, White Lodging has grown to 129 hotels in 17 states nationwide making it one of the fastest growing independent hospitality, development and management companies in the country. In addition, White Lodging plans to add 100 properties, 2,500 additional managers and $1.5 billion in managed sales to their portfolio over the next the five years.

Ransone began his career with White Lodging in 1996 as General Manager of the Courtyard by Marriott Indianapolis Downtown hotel, including oversight for the Courtyard Capitol and the Residence Inn Canal. He was promoted to Opening Director of Human Resources for the 622-room Indianapolis Downtown Marriott Convention Hotel, responsible for the hiring, training and ongoing development of 500 associates and then stepped in to the role of Resident Manager.

Ransone has received numerous accolades from White Lodging and Marriott International including a Special Achievement Award in 1998, Human Resources Manager of the Year in 2002, and Full Service GM of the Year in 2006. Marriott International distinguished him with Diamond Hotel and Diamond GM in 2006.

While General Manager of the Chicago Courtyard Downtown Magnificent Mile, Ransone served on the boards of the Illinois Hotel and Lodging Association, Help Ease Local Poverty in Chicago and the Greater North Michigan Avenue Association Charitable Foundation. In addition, Ransone served as the account executive for Michigan State University at which White Lodging was recently named Industry Partner of the Year.
