Buffalo, New York | Mark Holzberg, Chairman and CEO of Lorica Solutions, () the leader in converged managed networks in the hospitality sector, announced today that Lorica has entered into an agreement with developer ECD Company to provide the Lorica Room Center to theWit Hotel. TheWit is a new, 298-room luxury hotel currently under development in downtown Chicago.

Lorica Solutions is the developer of the Lorica Room Center (LRC), the only fully managed converged network specifically designed for the hospitality industry. The Lorica Room Center acts as a communications hub and monitoring node for all in-room devices, enabling new technologies like HDTV while providing proactive monitoring and support from Lorica’s 24x7 Network Operations Center and Help Desk.

Scott Greenberg, President and Co-Owner of ECD, said “I am always looking to apply new technologies to create a unique guest experience. I was intrigued with Lorica because it allows us to deliver a wide variety of technologies directly into the guest room. We look forward to working with Lorica. Its technology is sophisticated and intelligent, and it offers a very cost effective approach that allows us to provide state-of-the-art guest services on a single converged network.”

ECD strives to innovate by taking proven successful real estate concepts and improving them through innovation. The company’s multi-use developments and hotel properties specifically cater to the individual needs of the area in which they are built. In addition to theWit, ECD Company has several other new projects in development.

“Scott is a forward-thinking leader, who is building a great property with cutting-edge technology, said Holzberg. “He wants this property to be the most technologically advanced out there and we were able to present him with a very compelling solution. The Lorica Room Center will provide the platform that will let him deliver the type of guest experience he is planning. We are pleased to be able to help him realize his vision.”

“In addition to providing a better way to manage and monitor all the applications required in the guest room, the Lorica Room Center also makes it easier to make upgrades,” added Holzberg. “So in the future, when an innovative hotel such as theWit wants to add new features to maintain its cutting edge reputation, the Lorica Room Center can easily accommodate those needs.”

This is Lorica’s first fully converged network installation in Chicago. Lorica will also manage and proactively monitor the network via its Network Operations Center. TheWit is scheduled to open in May, 2009 in downtown Chicago, at the historic corner of State and Lake. It will include a high-end restaurant, rooftop lounge, spa, and a luxurious screening room that may be rented for such events as private movie screenings and sporting events.
