iHome® and Timex to be featured in 27,000 Disney guestrooms; Visit Booth No. 3346 at the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show, Nov. 9-11

RAHWAY, N.J. | Hotel Technologies, an affiliate of SDI Technologies and leading worldwide manufacturer of award-winning iPod® accessories, announces an agreement with WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort Hotel Properties making it the exclusive supplier of in-room digital alarm clock radios for approximately 26 Disney resorts representing 27,000 guestrooms.

The iHome™ in-room digital alarm clock radio with iPod docking/charging station has been specified for all Disney Deluxe properties, including: Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and Villas (Jambo), Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Villas, Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and Villas, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Polynesian Resort, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Old Key West Resort, The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, and Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. Two off-park properties, Disney's Vero Beach Resort and Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort, also will feature iHome™.

Hotel Technologies’ Timex model T1233BA alarm clocks with preset tuning will be featured at Disney’s Value and Moderate properties, including: Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, Disney’s All-Star Music Resort, Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter, and Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside.

“A WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort vacation is a magical experience that has enchanted families for generations," said Kevin Myers, Vice President, WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort Operations. "We are continually looking for exciting new ways to ensure that our guests enjoy superior comfort and entertainment in our guestrooms. We selected iHome™ and Timex because we are confident these interactive, in-room amenities will help make the most out of our guest's living space and vacation experience."

Tuned in to Disney

Chris Gowdy, Hotel Technologies Vice President, Sales Division, said it is becoming increasingly important to merge branded consumer products into the hospitality environment to provide a more home-like atmosphere. A recent Lodging Survey conducted by the American Hotel & Lodging Assn., in conjunction with Smith Travel Research, revealed that 35 percent of 10,200 hotels that participated now offer iPod docking stations in their guestrooms (78 percent were upper upscale hotels and 58 percent were luxury properties).

“iHome™ allows guests to personalize their in-room music experience by playing their iPod directly through the clock radio in the guestroom and wake to favorite songs instead of alarm buzzers,” Gowdy said. “This is completely in tune with Disney’s goal of coupling convenient amenities with cozy furnishings to create the ultimate experience. We are thrilled that today iHome is playing a role in creating some of that Disney ‘magic.’”

iHome requires little set up as it comes with auto-set™ technology; the time is already set and includes FM pre-set buttons, allowing staff to set four popular stations for the guest as an added convenience. The “Gentle Wake Alarm” feature wakes sleepers up gradually with increasing volume.

The Timex T1233BA alarm-clock radio features preset “icon” tuning – a selection of pre-programmed radio stations by music format, such as jazz, country, rock or classical. EZ set directions make the alarm effortless to operate. Both iHome and Timex accept an MP3/CD line-in cord so guests can plug in their CD players or other branded MP3 players, and both feature Hotel Technologies’ patented Single Day Alarm. If the previous guest sets an early alarm, the Single Day Alarm ensures that the next guest will not be awakened accidentally, since the alarm was never turned off.

“Hotel Technologies continually strives to create innovative products and smart design concepts that are in tune with today’s technology and travelers,” said Evan Stein, Hotel Technologies Vice President, Marketing Division. “Placing these systems in one of the world’s most renowned vacation destinations is a testament to the innovative design and superior sound Hotel Technologies’ brings to every product. We’re thrilled to be part of the WALT DISNEY WORLD® experience by providing guests with enhanced functionality and customized listening options.”

The iHome and Timex 1233BA systems will be on display in Booth 3346 at the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show Nov. 9-11 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York. Call Chris Gowdy at (908) 419-0086 to pre-schedule an appointment.
