The Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the fastest growing hotel companies in the world, continues to significantly expand the portfolio in Paris and announces two new Radisson properties in the French capital: The Radisson Ambassador Hotel, Paris Opéra (296 rooms, formerly known as the “Hotel Ambassador”) will hoist the Radisson flag as of 31 December 2008. In Q3 2011, the group will open the new-build Radisson Hotel Paris La Défense featuring 343 rooms.

“We are now having 1,600 rooms in operation and under development in the highly competitive market of Paris – and more than 4,000 rooms in France which is a new milestone in our business development”, said Kurt Ritter, President & CEO of Rezidor.

The Radisson Ambassador Hotel, Paris Opéra is set in a prestigious location in the very centre of the Opera Quarter – on Boulevard Haussmann in the 9th district; 300 meters away from the famous Opéra Garnier. Shopping paradises such as Galeries Lafayette and Printemps are nearby – as well as the business district featuring headquarters of financial giants such as BNP Paribas, Crédit Lyonnais, Generali and American Express, and the Paris Stock Exchange. With Art Deco beginnings, the spectacular hotel has retained a 1920's spirit which is reflected in the high glass ceilings, gold embossed columns and dark wood tones. Besides 296 rooms and suites, the building offers the “16 Haussmann” restaurant, “The Lindbergh Bar” named after Charles Lindberg, 8 meeting rooms and a business centre, and a fitness area. The hotel will undergo an extensive renovation which will be completed by end of Q2 2010. The Radisson Ambassador Hotel, Paris Opéra is a common project between Rezidor and Westmont Hospitality.

The Radisson Hotel Paris La Défense will be built in the upcoming business district La Défense – an area comprising 3.33 million m² of office space with 1,500 corporate headquarters and more than 3,600 companies such as Axa, IBM and Société Générale. It is strategically located – close to the city centre and only a 5 minutes drive away from Champs-Elysées. The new hotel will be located close to the subway station “Esplanade de La Défense” – at the intersection between two main highways, A14 and A86, which provide easy access to the ring and the international airport Charles de Gaulle. It will offer over 20 floors and 343 rooms and suites. The bar and restaurant palette will include an all day dining restaurant, a further restaurant, a lobby bar and a sky bar on the top floor with stunning views over Paris. Serving the international business clientele, the hotel will host approximately 1,000 m² of conference and banqueting space.
