KTN Announces Private Reservations Webinar Series For Individual Hotels/Call Centers
“Until now most webinars for the hospitality industry are directed towards a mass audience, where numerous participants at multiple locations attend one webinar presentation. This greatly limits the opportunity for individual participation and for customization the message for the audience,” Kennedy said. “With our model the webinars are presented privately by a KTN trainer directly to your reservations team. This is proving to be much more engaging for the participants and also a very effective as a training and development tool, especially when combined with mystery shopping reports for measuring the results.”
KTN’s first offering is a three-part series of 75-90 minute webinars based on its contemporary new Hotel Reservations SAILS Training program that focuses on “conversational” (vs. “transactional”) reservations selling skills. After scheduling the dates/times that fit your operational needs, participants attend the webinar as a group in any meeting room or office equipped with a computer with Internet access and a speakerphone. (An LCD projector is recommended for larger groups.) The webinar series includes homework assignments and activities that engage participants between webinars.
Kennedy went on to explain how this offering was different from other online eLearning options. “Even with today’s sophisticated eLearning platforms that include multi-media, self-paced online training still has its limits.” “While it is a great way to provide technology and systems training, eLearning has its limits for teaching soft-skills such as sales and hospitality,” added Kennedy. “Having presented over 50 such webinars so far in beta testing, we are excited about the results we have had with engaging and involving participants remotely through this medium,” Kennedy added.
KTN’s three-part Reservations SAILS webinar series runs just $975 total for all three sessions. While there is no official cap on group size, it is recommended that participation be limited to 12 to help maximize participation opportunities. (For larger staffs, KTN has special rates for having the webinar repeated to allow for coverage.) The weekly webinars can be scheduled to begin with as little as 10 days notice, although advance planning is recommended to ensure the most flexibility in scheduling.
KTN continues to offer is customized, on-premise workshops and also its CAT (coaching, assessment, and training) reservations mystery shopping reports. “We see the webinars as enabling us to reach a whole new market that might not otherwise be in a position to budget for traditional training,” Kennedy added. “With this new option KTN now offers affordable and scalable training solutions for everyone.”
In coming months KTN plans on expanding its webinar series to address other training tracks from its menu of programs, such as hospitality and guest service excellence, front desk revenue optimization, and strategies for e-mail sales success.
