• Following the acquisition of 20 hotels in Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic and the opening of 2 new hotels in Cologne and Munich – the Russian hotel chain plans further expansion in Europe
  • 12 properties already operate Amadeus PMS; the rest to follow by May 2009

Munich, Amadeus, a global leader in technology and distribution solutions for the travel and tourism industry, has today announced that the Russian AZIMUT Hotel Company will migrate all 20 properties recently acquired from the Austrian Hotel Company (AHC) to the Amadeus Multiproperty PMS (Property Management System). AZIMUT’s two new hotels in Munich and Cologne have been using the system since September and October, respectively.

AZIMUT has chosen the Amadeus Multiproperty PMS to centralise inventory management, ensure consistent service quality, and optimise yield across the chain’s hotels in Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic. The system is hosted at the Amadeus Data Centre in Munich, Germany, one of the world’s largest data processing centres dedicated to the travel industry.

Providing insight into individual guest’s preferences, Amadeus Multiproperty PMS helps hotels within the AZIMUT chain to offer a personalised service, maximise cross- and up-selling opportunities, and synchronise efforts across all properties. This ensures a consistent AZIMUT brand experience helping, in turn, to build guest loyalty. AZIMUT plans to use the Amadeus PMS to support its further expansion in Germany, Austria and Bulgaria.

Christian Kettlitz, CEO, AZIMUT Hotels, said: “Individuality is one of the trademarks of our hotels. Now AZIMUT guests can expect the same level of service in each of our properties. Amadeus Multiproperty PMS provides a single view of all properties, allowing us to manage them centrally and analyse booking volume in order to increase profitability. Amadeus Multiproperty PMS will also enable us to easily adapt and integrate potential properties in the future, so we feel well prepared to achieve our expansion plans.”

Mr. Kettlitz also appreciates the advantages of outsourced hosting: “Our data is in the best of hands with an international technology partner like Amadeus. This gives us the peace of mind we need to focus on our operations.”

AZIMUT plans to migrate all of its 22 hotels outside Russia to the Amadeus Multiproperty PMS by May 2009. The migration of the former AHC hotels – including EuroHotels in Hamburg, Nuremberg and Berlin – has already been a great success.

Richard Kürzl, Head of Northern & Central Europe and Middle East, Amadeus Hospitality Business Group, commented on the new partnership: “We are proud to support a hotel chain like AZIMUT. With a keen understanding of the role of technology in guest management and revenue maximisation, they continue to grow despite these economically challenging times.”

AZIMUT Hotels | The AZIMUT Hotels Company was founded in 2004. Based in Moscow, AZIMUT has properties in nine cities of the Russian Federation, with a total of over 3,275 rooms. The AZIMUT Hotels Company operates properties held by private investors and long-term leaseholders.
